Here at Bicknell Engineering we use manual Lathes which are modernised with digital measuring on your X & Y Axis, a HARRISON M300 Centre Lathe with the extra-long Bed is indestructible, been around for over 25yrs.
Everything that we make is handmade, so from Raw material right through to the finished work piece, various parts would be individually made then pressed together where necessary. We also make parts in one piece if needed, take a look at the BOC/LINDE Pressure Tester in our works.
We are specialists in turning Acytal& Acrylic to a polished finish, our Acrylic work especially is turned and polished back to a glass finish, there are only a handful of companies that can do this or should we say (Do it Right).
Lathe work and turning are really both the same, most people associate metal work with Lathes but this isn’t the case in the 21st century, it is becoming more and more popular and cost effective for the customer to have their parts produced in various plastics, especially Acytal and Acrylic. These materials are more durable and just as strong as other metals, and they can offer a nicer finish in some cases than metal, easier on the eye, lighter and of course CHEAPER!!
